Learn useful techniques to be efficient at lighting fire in a remote wilderness setting based around some of Light My Fire's catalogue of fire lighting equipment

This workshop will be professionally run by a local bushcraft expert and will focus on

  • Identifying useful natural and man-made tinder’s.
  • Foraging for fuel and learn how to identify trees that give the best fuel.
  • Discovering the most efficient way to light a fire in adverse conditions.
  • Making and using feather sticks, an Arctic way of fire lighting.
  • Having a go at using fungi and tinder to get your fire going.
  • Having a go at producing an ember through fire by friction. (The Bow Drill).
  • Considering environmental issues and leaving no trace.

 The workshops will be run on both Saturday and Sunday between at 10-11am and again at 3-4pm and places must be reserved in advance below:
